LOCKPORT, N.Y. - The Niagara County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday the arrest of Correction Officer John Dale of Niagara Falls.
The 33-year-old Dale is accused of accepting cash to take contraband for an inmate into the Niagara County Jail.
Dale faces charges of Bribe Receiving, Promoting Prison Contraband, and Official Misconduct. He was arraigned in Lockport and bail was set at $2,500. Dale has also been suspended from the department without pay pending an internal investigation and hearing.
The Sheriff's Office says the investigation began following a tip to their office.
