NEWFANE, N.Y. — The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation based out of Lockport arrested a Newfane man for animal cruelty on Tuesday, October, 29.
The suspect who has been identified as Christian A. Radetich-Hallman, 23, was charged with 2 felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and 2 felony counts of criminal tampering with physical evidence.
On October 24, State Police had went to a residence on Main Street in Newfane for reports of animal cruelty.
During an investigation police found that Radetich-Hallman had beaten two dogs to death.
One was a 4-month-old male King Charles Cavalier Spaniel which was found in a garbage can. The other dog was a 3-month-old female Australian Shepard which was found at a separate location at the suspect's home.
State Police and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted a search warrant on the suspect's home during the initial investigation.
On that same day Radetich-Hallman was found and taken into custody by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office and NYS Parole. The suspect had both a parole violation and separate domestic violence offense.
He was then sent to the Monroe County Jail for a parole violation.
The Niagara County SPCA, Niagara County Sheriff’s Office and NYS Parole all assisted with the investigation.
