CLARENCE, N.Y. — The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested 71-year-old John E. Dziedzic of Clarence, NY, and charged him as a Level 3 sex offender on Tuesday, October 10.
Dziedzic was also charged with multiple felonies that included failing to provide his photo, updating his address, and two counts of endangering a child.
Troopers received a complaint about a suspicious incident at the Village Haven Inn on Main Street in Clarence that allegedly occurred on Monday, October 9.
Their investigation determined that Dziedzic approached a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old and offered them money, marijuana, and candy if they returned with him to his hotel room, which investigators said they did.
Dziedzic was arrested by the State Police in Clarence and arraigned Tuesday morning.
After his arrest in Clarence, Buffalo Police issued a warrant for Dziedzic for failing to register as a sex offender. He was arraigned on Thursday morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Kevin Keane, who set bail at $1,000 and ordered Dziedzic back to court on October 17. Dziedzic, however, won't be getting out of jail since he is being held at the Erie County Holding Center on the charges New York State Police brought against him in Clarence.
Dziedzic was on parole for a Murder that took place in 1980 in the city of Tonawanda. He was on the state sex registry for a prior rape and kidnapping that occurred in 1976.
