BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man pleaded guilty to all counts of his indictment in his role in a shooting at a popular nightclub in downtown Buffalo.
The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced on Monday that Sharief McBroom pleaded guilty to shooting two people and killing one at Club Marcella back in February 2023.
The victim, 21-year-old Jorge Garcia Leon, died at the scene. Two others were hit by gunfire and taken to ECMC for their injuries.
“This is a completely senseless, violent crime," said Acting District Attorney Mike Keane.
"This defendant snuck an illegal gun into a nightclub then intentionally fired multiple shots at the victims after a minor altercation. I am taking a hard stance on gun violence, so no reduced plea was offered in this case. I hope that the family of Jorge Garcia Leon and the two survivors feel that justice has been served by this defendant pleading guilty to all counts in the indictment.”
McBroom now faces a sentence of 50 years to life when he is due back in court on September 9, 2024.
