BUFFALO, N.Y. — Erie County District Attorney on Tuesday said that a Buffalo woman was sentenced in connection to a stabbing.
Jakyia A. Williams, 20, of Buffalo was sentenced before State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges to serve five years of probation.
According to the news release, Williams intentionally stabbed her ex-boyfriend in the upper torso with a knife on September 5, 2022, just after 8:00 p.m. outside of a Cheektowaga fast food restaurant on Thruway Plaza.
After being stabbed in the driver's seat, the victim drove himself to Sisters of Charity Hospital St. Joseph's Campus where he was treated for his injury and released.
Williams pleaded guilty to one count of Assault in the Second Degree on June 15, 2023.
On Tuesday, a final order of protection was issued for the victim which will remain in effect until 2031.
