Man arrested last month for public lewdness faces new charges

The same 26-year-old man was also arrested in connection to multiple incidents of indecent exposure on May 28 on West Delavan and Elmwood avenues.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A man arrested for indecent exposure now faces new charges.

Buffalo Police on Wednesday said 26-year-old Orlando Martinez offered to carry a 62-year-old woman's walker up the stairs to her apartment on Delaware Avenue when he attacked her on June 15.

He pushed the woman into a door while performing a sexual act, then took off, police said, adding that they were able to identify Martinez on June 20, one day after the woman reported what happened.

Police charged Martinez with burglary and public lewdness.

Martinez was also arrested in connection to multiple incidents of indecent exposure on West Delavan and Elmwood avenues on May 28. He was charged on May 31 with two counts of public lewdness, a misdemeanor, and was released on an appearance ticket.

Martinez was arraigned in Buffalo City Court.   He is scheduled to return to court on July 16 for a pre-trial conference, and July 18 for a felony hearing.  He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
