JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The Jamestown Police Department said a man is now in jail after a 1-year-old allegedly consumed marijuana.
According to the news release, just before 9:30 p.m. on Friday, officers were called to UPMC for a suspicious situation.
When police arrived and investigated they learned that 21-year-old Elijah T. McBride allowed a 1-year-old victim to consume marijuana. Officers said while the child was being treated at the hospital McBride took the child from the hospital before the child was able to be fully treated, placing the victim in a dangerous situation.
Police said McBride left the hospital for approximately 30 minutes and then returned with the baby.
He was arrested and transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is facing charges of endangering the welfare of a child and is being held pending arraignment.
