Man faces charges after allegedly rear-ending City of Tonawanda Police vehicle

The man allegedly admitted to officers that he was drinking and taking medications. A field test determined he was under the influence of alcohol and narcotics.

CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. — A Tonawanda man is facing multiple charges after allegedly rear-ending a City of Tonawanda Police vehicle on Saturday morning.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. at the intersection of Delaware and Delton streets.

Police said officers Stephen Bentley and Benjamin Litz were stopped at a red light when 41-year-old Jason Quest crashed into them.

Quest allegedly admitted to officers that he was drinking and taking medications. A field test determined he was under the influence of alcohol and narcotics.

No one was injured, but both vehicles were damaged in the crash.

Quest is facing DWI charges, along with multiple traffic violations.
