Sincere E. Wiley, 27, faces charges that include reckless endangerment, unlawfully fleeing of a police officer, criminal possession of stolen property, trespassing, reckless driving, and imprudent speed.

LOCKPORT, N.Y. — A person from Lockport allegedly drove recklessly around the Niagara County Sheriff's Office parking lot, led officials on a high-speed chase, before eventually being arrested Saturday afternoon.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office said that Sincere E. Wiley, 27, was seen driving a green 2002 GMC Envoy in a reckless manner by a patrol unit in its own parking lot at 3:14 p.m. Saturday. Later, deputies determined that the vehicle had been reported as stolen out of the City of Lockport.

After an attempt to stop the vehicle, the Sheriff's office said Wiley then led police in a chase that, at times, reached speeds in excess of 80 to 90 mph.

According to the sheriff's office, Wiley first fled west toward Lower Mountain Road, then north on Green Road, then turned east and drove through a yard on Ridge Road.

At that point, officials say Wiley turned around and began driving west on Ridge Road, nearly hitting a marked Niagara County Sheriff's Office's vehicle head-on. Deputies say Wiley turned right onto Irish Road before the chase continued through the towns of Cambria, Wilson, and Lockport before heading back into the City of Lockport.

There, the chase continued for another 10 minutes at speeds of about 20 mph along city streets before the Niagara County Sheriff's Office said Wiley pulled into a yard on Green Street, where Wiley was taken into custody.

Wiley faces several charges that include reckless endangerment, unlawfully fleeing of a police officer, criminal possession of the stolen property, trespassing, reckless driving, and imprudent speed.

Wiley is being held without bond at the Niagara County Jail. Wiley is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Monday in the Town of Lockport Court.

No injuries were reported from the chase.
