LOCKPORT, N.Y. — A jury has found a Niagara Falls man guilty in the death of a man and shooting another in 2022
Shaquan Gibson, 49, was found guilty of Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
The Niagara County District Attorney's office says Gibson shot and killed Cyjear Betton, 24 and shot another person in Niagara Falls on May 2, 2022.
“This was a cold-blooded killing. The defendant hunted the victims down on Pine Avenue, shooting them with a handgun in broad daylight. This verdict will ensure that this extremely dangerous individual is off the streets of Niagara Falls for good," said Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman.
Gibson could face up to 65 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on January 3, 2024.
