Reward offered for information regarding Jaylen Griffin case

Crime Stoppers WNY is offering a reward for information on the arrest of the person(s) responsible for the disappearance of Jaylen Griffin.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Police recently shared the sad news that after being missing since August of 2020, 12-year-old Jaylen Griffin's remains were found in a home on Sheffield Avenue on April 12.

A maintenance worker reported to police that he discovered a body in the attic of a home on Sheffield Ave. that he was working on. The worker didn't report any odor of decomposing matter. 

Crime Stoppers WNY is offering anyone who may have information that will lead to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for the disappearance of Jaylen Griffin a reward of $7,500.

Those who believe they may have information should call (716)-867-6161. Tips can also be sent using the free Crime Stoppers mobile app.

Griffin was last seen on Aug. 4, 2020. Buffalo Police have said he went to a grocery store in the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood and never returned home.

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael Keane said the medical examiner will be conducting an additional autopsy on Griffin's remains, but indicated it could take months. 

Griffin would have turned 16 years-old on Monday, April 22. A memorial service will be held in his honor in front of the Central Terminal near the traffic circle at 6 P.M.
