JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The Jamestown Police Department is looking for the community's help in an active investigation that has been going on since early September.
On Tuesday, September 10 Jamestown Police were called the area of Newland Avenue and Forest Avenue for a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found the victim, Doug Howie, with a gunshot wound.
Jamestown Fire and Alstar Ambulance treated Howie at the scene and took him to UPMC Chautauqua. He was later flown to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania where he later died.
In an update on September 25, police are now looking for help in identifying the operator of a vehicle believed to have been involved. The vehicle is a dark-colored pickup truck according to Jamestown Police.
Police have not released a motive or said if they have a suspect in the shooting.
