JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A 68-year-old Jamestown man is dead following a shooting Tuesday evening.
Jamestown Police were called the area of Newland Avenue and Forest Avenue for a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found the victim, Doug Howie, with a gunshot wound.
Jamestown Fire and Alstar Ambulance treated Howie at the scene and took him to UPMC Chautauqua. He was later flown to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania where he later died.
Police did not release a motive or say they have a suspect in the shooting.
