JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was arrested Friday in connection to a stabbing, in which the victim was airlifted to a hospital.
The charges faced by 46-year-old Carlos R. Castro include one felony count of assault, two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and two counts of menacing. He was being held, pending arraignment, in Jamestown City Court.
Jamestown Police officers were called to a northside address at 2:47 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. Officers found a person with multiple stab wounds in front of a residence and began to administer first aid.
Officers later learned that Castro, who was a suspect, was still on the scene. Police took him into custody without incident.
Jamestown Fire and Chautauqua County EMS crews helped the stabbing victim at the scene, before the person was taken via helicopter to a hospital.
New York State Police also assisted at the scene.
