NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. — The Niagara County Sheriff's Office said an inmate allegedly tried to take an officers gun during a transport.
Investigators say the 31-year-old inmate was in the process of being transferred to the Attica Correctional Facility on September 19 when they allegedly lunged towards the correctional officer's service weapon.
Officers were able to secure the inmate without any further incident happening, according to police.
Criminal charges are pending and the inmate has a future court date in the Town of Lockport.
