LANCASTER, N.Y. — A Lancaster man is facing charges for allegedly texting threatening messages to two victims in a high-profile civil case.

Tyler Vogel, 26, was arraigned Monday night in Lancaster Town Court on two counts of Making a Terroristic Threat and two counts of Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says Vogel allegedly sent text messages to two victims separately threatening to physical harm or death if they did not comply with his request to cancel a pending high-profile case happening in another county.   The DA's office declined to provide more information on that case to protect the victims' identities.

Investigators say Vogel found the victims' phone numbers by accessing a paid background website.

Vogel us scheduled to return to Lancaster Village Court March 28 at 12pm for a felony hearing.  He is currently being held without bail pending a forensic examination.  A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of both victims.

If convicted, Vogel could face a maximum of seven years in prison.
