Hawaii woman faces DWI, other charges after crash in Silver Creek

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office said she was driving while impaired on Route 5. The people in the other vehicle were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

SILVER CREEK, N.Y. — A Hawaii woman faces charges after a two-car crash on Thursday that sent at least two people to a hospital.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office said that Sally Jo Bell, 40, of Kihei, Hawaii, was driving while impaired on Route 5.

She has been charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired, speed not reasonable and prudent, failure to keep right, and driving an unregistered vehicle.

The people in the other vehicle were taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk to be treated. The sheriff's office did not say how many people were in the other vehicle, but did say they had minor injuries.

Bell will appear in the Town of Sheridan Court at a later date.
