BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Hamburg man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for fatally shooting a man inside a business in February.
Salvatore S. Rizzo, 36, was sentenced Monday in Erie County Court. He pleaded guilty in September to one count of Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
Investigators say Rizzo intentionally shot Slavisa 'Slav' Stojanovic, 40 inside a business on Botsford Place in the City of Buffalo on February 9, 2023.
Stojanovic was taken to ECMC with injuries to his head and neck. He died a week later of his injuries.
Rizzo was arrested at his home a short while later. Police also found a loaded, illegal gun inside of Rizzo's vehicle.
