ALABAMA, N.Y. — A possible homicide is being investigated by the Genesee County Sheriff's Office.
The body of the victim — identified as 59-year-old Michael G. Poole from the Olcott area — was found Tuesday afternoon in the Town of Alabama. His body was located during a missing persons investigation that started in Niagara County.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that this appears to be an isolated incident and that there is not a threat to the public," the Genesee County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday in a statement, adding that no other details will be released at this time, citing the active investigation.
