AMHERST, N.Y. — A former employee for an Amherst fitness center is sentenced to probation for stealing more than $78,000 from his employer between December 6, 2022 and June 11, 2023.
Michael F. Ickowski Jr. of Cheektowaga stole $78,615.58 while working as an accountant for the fitness center. Investigators say he had been fraudulently depositing cash revenue into his personal bank account.
Ickowski has since then paid the full restitution of $78,615.58 to the former employer, and pleaded guilty to one count of grand larceny in the second degree. He will serve five years of probation, and signed a confession of judgement as part of the plea deal.
