Former Depew Public Works Superintendent sentenced in misconduct case

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Erie County District Attorney John Flynn announced Thursday morning a former public works superintendent for Depew was sentenced for official misconduct.

Phillip Fleck, 49, of Lancaster, who is the former Superintendent for the Department of Public Works in the Village of Depew, admitted that between December 3, 2016 and November 29, 2016, he traded village equipment to purchase a backhoe for his own personal use while he was superintendent.

He was sentenced to pay a $1,000 and perform 100 hours of community service.

Fleck resigned from his position in November of 2017.
