WEST SENECA, N.Y. — An amateur criminal makes the first crime of the year the easiest and fastest to solve.

West Seneca Police Department shared on Tuesday that they solved their first crime of the year after a man allegedly stole three Shark vacuums from Big Lots and fled the scene on Monday morning.

In a Facebook post by the West Seneca Police Department, they excitedly report that their first crime of the year has been solved and they said,

"Our first crime of 2024 has been solved! Yesterday morning a male suspect stole three Shark vacuums from Big Lots and fled the scene. After some exhaustive police work including witness interviews, fingerprints, DNA samples, and facial recognition software we have identified a suspect. Just kidding his actual name was literally on the back of his hoodie and we identified him in about 8 seconds and filed charges."
