Williamsville man pleads guilty to firing gun inside clinic

Jeremy Griffin, 49, plead guilty in Erie County Court to several charges for shooting a woman and firing shots inside a clinic.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Williamsville man pleaded guilty Monday to shooting a woman and then firing shots inside a clinic on Buffalo's west side. 

Jeremy Griffin, 49, plead guilty in Erie County Court to one count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, one count of Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree,  one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree and one count of Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree .

Investigators say Griffin intentionally shot a female victim with a rifle inside her Pennsylvania Avenue apartment the morning of November 10, 2022.  After the victim was shot, she rant into her apartment and closed the door.  Griffen then fired several shots into the door trying to get it.  The victim did not know Griffin. 

Griffin then left the scene and drove to a nearby health clinic on Virginia Street still armed with his weapon.  Griffin fired a shot inside the entry way of the clinic, hitting a wall in the lobby with a bullet.  Griffin struggle with security on scene and additional shots were fired from the gun.  The security guards were able to gain control of Griffin and the weapon.   No injuries were reported.   The incident was captured on surveillance video. 

The woman that was shot on Pennsylvania Avenue was taken to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to her leg. 

Griffin could face up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on May 30.  He is currently being held without bail.
