Fatal crash on I-190 in Buffalo Sunday morning

A man died early Sunday morning and another person was severely injured after a car lost control and struck a median.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — One person died early Sunday morning and another person was severely injured after a car lost control and struck a median, according to New York State Police.

Around 2:10 a.m. troopers responded to the south bound lane of I-190 near exit 8 in the City of Buffalo, where a driver of a 2000 Nissan Altima lost control on the deceleration ramp. State Police say the driver was operating at an excessive amount of speed and the vehicle hydroplaned on the rain slicked highway as he was attempting to change lanes.

Troopers said that the driver, identified as 20-year-old Damaree M. Lattimore of Hamburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, 19, was ejected from the car and had severe injuries.

Lattimore was taken to Erie County Medical Center for an autopsy.

This incident is still under investigation.
