Erie County Sheriff's respond to a complaint of a man in Sprague Brook Park with a rifle

The Erie County Sheriff's Office received reports of a man in Sprague Brook Park with a rifle on Friday night.

ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — On Friday night the Erie County Sheriff's Office shared in a social media post that they received a 911 call at 6:35 p.m. regarding a complaint that there was a man in Sprague Park with a rifle near the campground area of the park.  

"Sprague Brook Park remains open and safe. There is no danger or threat to the public." the Sheriff's office stated in their post "Multiple patrols and Air 1 responded. Patrol located a 15-year-old male with a BB rifle. The juvenile was charged with two (2) counts of Menacing in the 2nd Degree."
