BUFFALO, N.Y. — A corrections officer for the Erie County Sheriff's Office is accused of bringing contraband into the Erie County Correctional Facility.
Jason Cross, 38, is charged with three misdemeanor counts of introducing contraband into a prison.
The Professional Standards Division of the Sheriff's office investigated reports that Cross was in possession of prohibited items while in secure areas of the correctional facility.
The Sheriff's office says Cross resigned from his position.
The Sheriff's office says they will move to have Cross decertified from the Department of Criminal Justice Services.
