BUFFALO, NY-- 2 On Your Side has learned that defense attorney Joseph Terranova was attacked by a client who is an inmate at the Erie County Holding Center.
An Erie County Sheriff's Officer spokesperson tells 2 On Your Side Terranova was meeting with inmate Mark Dublino in "a private, contact allowed" attorney conference room Friday morning.
Dublino allegedly stood up and attacked Terranova during their meeting.
Terranova suffered injuries to his upper body and face. He was treated at the scene and then taken to the hospital for additional treatment. He tells 2 On Your Side's Ron Plants a CT scan showed a small nose fracture.
Dublino remains in the Erie County Holding Center for court proceedings on multiple felonies charges. He could face additional charges for the alleged attack.
Dublino was arrested in 2016 for attacking three people in Amherst. He was later found guilty of attempted murder and other charges earlier this year. He is scheduled to be sentenced Monday on that conviction.
