ALDEN, NY-- Convicted killer and prison escapee David Sweat has been moved to a new prison.
Sweat was transferred last week to Wende Correctional Facility in Alden after a brief stay at Attica.
Sweat was one of the two prison escapees who set off a statewide manhunt a few years ago.
The New York State Corrections and Community Supervision Department says they review all inmates' behavior, allegiances with other inmates and over-familiarity with a facility in deciding when a prisoner is transferred. They did not indicate a specific reason for Sweat's transfer.
This is not his first prison transfer. Sweat had been transferred from Five Points Correctional Facility in Seneca County to Attica this past January after a report that he had a detailed plan to break out of Five Points.
