ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Orchard Park Police have charged a man for a hit and run incident that involved multiple Jewett Holmwood Road mailboxes on December 22.

The incident was first handled by an Orchard Park Volunteer Fire Chief who had followed the suspect's vehicle and witnessed them back into another motorist on the road. The Chief then notified police who caught up to the suspect and identified him as a 28-year-old male from Rochester.

While conducting their investigation the man attempted to drive away but was eventually taken into custody.

During the investigation back at the police department the suspect failed multiple sobriety tests, and was evaluated by a drug recognition expert.

The suspect since then has been charged with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, driving while ability impaired by drugs, reckless operation, driving with suspended registration, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and other traffic offenses. He will return for court on Wednesday in the Town of Orchard Park.
