LANCASTER, N.Y. — A 43-year-old Lancaster man pleaded guilty in court on Thursday, March 7 to the receipt of child pornography.
Jacob V, Schmidbauer will face a minimum mandatory penalty of 5-years in prison, with a maximum of 20-years in prison. He will also have to pay a $250,000 fine.
In January of 2023, Lancaster Police received a complaint that Schmidbauer had allegedly used a device to record a 13-year-old girl while she was showering.
The recordings had been stored on an SD card which was recovered with 32 clips on it some of which had sexually explicit of the 13-year-old victim.
Schmidbauer's sentencing will be scheduled at a later date that has not yet been released.
