JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The Jamestown Police Department shared in a press release on Thursday that an 18-year-old is accused of shooting someone in the face with a flare gun.
Jamestown Police officers had responded to a report of an assault on Newland and Forest Ave on Tuesday just after 8pm.
Officers say Marquan D. Carper-Cunningham was allegedly found to have engaged in a verbal argument with another person.
During the verbal argument Cunningham allegedly shot the person in the face with a flare gun causing physical injury to them. Police say he ran from the scene and was located on the following day by a patrol officer who had a search warrant and took him into custody.
Cunningham remains in the Jamestown City jail as he awaits his arraignment.
An update has not been provided on the victim's health following the injury.
