BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Police Department alongside the Lackawanna Police joined forces on an investigation that lead to the arrest of a 30-year-old man.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office says Mario Pittman is accused of leading authorities on a foot chase down South Park Avenue and Olcott Avenue in South Buffalo on the morning of April 30.
According to investigators, during that chase, Pittman threw a sandwich bag full of crystal powder into a yard. The powder was assumed to be methamphetamine. Shortly after he attempted to dispose of the sandwich bag officers were able to take him into custody.
Following his arrest, Pittman has been charged with
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer
- Reckless Driving
- Multiple VTL Infractions
Pending his arraignment, Pittman is being held at the Erie County Holding Center.
