POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Convicted killer Edward Kindt appeared in a Poughkeepsie courtroom on Thursday.
Kindt answered to an administrative law judge after allegedly cutting off his ankle bracelet and escaping from supervised housing in Dutchess County. He was found days later, in Salamanca, at a family member's home.
Thursday marked his final parole hearing after being charged with violating the conditions of his parole.
The hearing was adjourned until August 15.
Kindt was convicted and sentenced to prison for the Mother's Day rape and strangulation death of Penny Brown in Salamanca in 1999. He was granted parole by a state panel in March of last year.
