Cheektowaga ends relationship with Citizen Observer

People will still be able to make anonymous tips about any crime through the departments regular channels.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — The Cheektowaga Police department has announced that they will no longer be utilizing a partnership with the Citizen Observer known as Tip411.

Tip411 is a notification system that allows people to send in anonymous tips and receive crime alerts.

Cheektowaga Police decided to end the partnership due to what they said was "budgetary reasons, coupled with the department’s ability to still intake anonymous complaints."

People will still be able to make anonymous tips about any crime through the departments regular channels. Non-emergency complaints can be made by calling 716-686-3500.
