BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Cheektowaga man has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking.

James Fox, 41, plead guilty in Federal Court Tuesday to sex trafficking by coercion.

The US Attorney Western NY District office says Fox coerced the victim to engage in commercial sex acts for him by providing the victim, who was addicted to heroin, with heroin and crack cocaine in exchange for sex.

Investigators say Fox would keep the victim supplied with small amounts of heroin to keep them dependent and coerce them into engaging in commercial sex acts, along with the use of physical restraints.  In one incident, they say the victim suffered a heroin overdose that Fox administered four doses of Narcan before the victim regained consciousness.

Investigators also say that between 2018 and 2021, Fox coerced five other individuals to engage in commercial sex acts for him.  Fox provide these victims, who were all addicted to heroin, with heroin and crack cocaine in exchange for sex.

Fox is scheduled to be sentenced on May 14, 2024.  He faces a minimum of 15 years in prison, with a maximum of life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
