Police: Man in critical condition after Wednesday shooting in Buffalo

Ferry-Fillmore District officers who arrived at the scene found a 34-year-old man who had been shot multiple times.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man was rushed to Erie County Medical Center after being shot Wednesday night.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. on the first block of Shumway Street, north of William Street, a spokesperson for the Buffalo Police Department said Thursday in a statement.

Ferry-Fillmore District officers who arrived at the scene found a 34-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. 

Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia says the man had left in a vehicle to go to the store, and when he came back to the Shumway residence, he had been shot multiple times. Police believe he was shot while in his vehicle.

He was taken to ECMC where he underwent surgery. He is currently in the trauma ICU.
