Buffalo Police officer struck by a vehicle during pursuit on Friday night

Police did not specify the exact nature of the officer's injury or injuries.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo Police officer received treatment at a hospital Friday night after being struck by a vehicle.

The incident happened shortly past 10 p.m. Friday, near Tonawanda and Ontario streets, where Northwest District officers were pursuing a suspect on foot. One of the officers involved in the pursuit was struck by a vehicle.

That officer was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Police did not specify the exact nature of the officer's injury or injuries.

"The original suspect remains outstanding at this time," a City of Buffalo spokesperson told 2 On Your Side in a statement on Saturday.
