BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Police say they have made an arrest in connection with a homicide that happened last month.
Latrice Purdie, 29, of Buffalo, is charged with one count of Murder in the Second Degree.
Detectives say officers were called to a report of a shooting on Oct. 30 near Wade Avenue and Holden Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found one victim on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, Akeem Cortex, 39, of Buffalo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Purdie was arraigned in Buffalo City Court on Monday where she pled not guilty. She is scheduled to return to court for a felony hearing on Nov. 22. She is currently being held without bail.
If convicted Purdie could face a maximum of 25-years to life in prison.
