Buffalo mayor, NFL community mourn Super Bowl parade shooting in Kansas City

A number of teams and the NFL office took to social media, mourning what happened on Wednesday.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown and the NFL community expressed remorse following a shooting that happened in Kansas City, where the Chiefs had been celebrating their Super Bowl victory.

One person was killed in the shooting, and police added that at least eight children were among 22 people who were shot at end of Chiefs' Super Bowl parade.

"It was very troubling to hear about the tragic gun violence at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade in Kansas City this afternoon," Mayor Brown said on social media.

"Our hearts ache for the victims and their families. Violence has no place in our society. Please keep the Kansas City community in your prayers.

A number of teams and the NFL office took to social media, mourning what happened in Wednesday.

"We are deeply saddened by the senseless shooting that occurred today near the end of the rally in Kansas City for the Chiefs. Our thoughts are with the victims and everyone affected. We are grateful for the quick and thorough response of law enforcement and emergency personnel," the NFL said.
