Buffalo man sentenced 35 years to life for shooting three people, two fatally

Jameer M. Woods, 20, also known as 'JaJa', was sentenced in Erie County Court Wednesday.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man was sentenced to 35 years to life in prison for a fatal shooting that happened back in 2022.

Jameer M. Woods, 20, also known as JaJa, was sentenced in Erie County Court on Wednesday.

Investigators with the Erie County District Attorney's Office say Wood shot three people, killing two of them on August 28, 2022 with an illegal handgun. The shooting happened on Parker Boulevard in the Town of Tonawanda.

Antoyn Williams, 51, of the Town of Tonawanda, and Kristina Perez, 36, of Hinsdale, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The third person struck was taken and released from ECMC for their injuries.

Woods pleaded guilty in May 2024 to two counts of Murder, one count of Attempted Murder, one count of Assault, and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

“This defendant was only 18 years old when he intentionally murdered his mother’s ex-boyfriend over a disagreement about her property," said acting DA Mike Keane.

"Sadly, another life was tragically ended, and a third person was injured by gunfire in this vicious attack. I hope that the family and friends of Antoyn Williams and Kristina Perez as well as the surviving victim feel that justice has been served by this defendant pleading guilty to all charges and being sentenced to a significant term of incarceration.”
