Buffalo man sentenced for hitting, killing pedestrian

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man was sentenced to six months in jail after hitting and killing a pedestrian while under the influence of alcohol.

Curtis L. Hall Jr., 37, of Buffalo was driving a car on Dec. 15, 2023, when he struck and killed 69-year-old Michael T. Cosgrove who was crossing William Street in the city of Buffalo, the Erie County District Attorney's Office said.

Hall pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide, the highest sustainable charge on May 21, 2024.

As part of the sentence, Hall will have his New York State driver's license revoked. He will also serve five years probation following his time in jail.
