BUFFALO, N.Y. — A 36-year-old man from Buffalo has been sent to prison on charges involving machine guns.
On Thursday, January 25, U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced that Angel Flores, 36, of Buffalo was convicted of conspiracy to deal in the business of dealing firearms without a license.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis A. Testani handled the case. He stated that on October 27, 2022, Customs and Border Protection officers stopped a parcel that was sent from China at the FedEx facility at the Memphis International Airport.
The parcel was addressed to a residence on Sweet Avenue in Buffalo and in it contained parts for several Machine Gun Conversion Devices (MCD's) which were hidden in a bag with black plastic drawstring clips.
It was taken and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations who determined that Flores was the one who lived at the Sweet Street address.
On November 9, 2022 and investigator delivered the parcel, without the MCD's, to the front steps of the Buffalo residence where it was taken in by Flores a short time later before he left. He was then take into custody at that time.
Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. sentenced Flores to serve 18 months in prison.
