BUFFALO, N.Y. — U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced Tuesday that a Buffalo man pleaded guilty to a string of charges dating back as early as 2016.

Nader Ngoopos (Nike), 25, is charged with "conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and distribute, 500 grams or more of cocaine and 100 grams or more of heroin, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition," according to Trini Ross' office.

Prosecutors said that between 2016 and 2018, Ngoopos conferred with others in the Buffalo area to travel to Olean and sell cocaine and heroin.

Investigators said they observed Ngoopos selling cocaine and heroin out of various locations in Olean, including North 8th Street and South 11th Street.

On Oct. 15, 2018, Ngoopos along with two other suspects broke into a dormitory at St. Bonaventure University.

Once inside, the three suspects broke into a dorm room where Ngoopos pointed a firearm at the heads of the two people inside the dorm room, threatening them, and then stealing about an ounce of marijuana and approximately $400.

Then on Sept. 2, 2021, police said they saw Ngoopos get into a vehicle in Buffalo. When they tried to stop the vehicle, it sped off leading officers on a high-speed chase.

The car eventually stopped on East Amherst Street where Ngoopos exited the vehicle and ran away, dropping a pistol.

Ngoopos was previously convicted in Cattaraugus County Court in June 2020, of a felony and legally prohibited from possessing a firearm and ammunition.

He will be sentenced on Feb. 21, 2025, before Judge Sinatra and faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum of life and a $5 million fine.
