Buffalo man faces charges after making online threats

Police said the man posted the comments on Facebook and targeted several people, including Buffalo and Cheektowaga police officers.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Police say a man is facing several charges after he made threats online.

Buffalo Police on Wednesday said 57-year-old Mark Ferraro of Buffalo posted the comments on Facebook and targeted several people, including Buffalo and Cheektowaga police officers.

Police say his arrest comes just weeks after he threatened to bomb a Buffalo Police building.

"Threat Management Unit detectives immediately began an investigation. The person that made the posts was quickly identified," Buffalo Police said of Ferraro, who was arrested Saturday on the first block of Best Street.

Ferraro has been charged with one felony count of making a terroristic threat and one misdemeanor count of making a threat of mass harm.

A search of the New York State electric court filing system on Wednesday showed that Ferraro's next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday afternoon in Buffalo City Court. He has a defense attorney.
