AMHERST, N.Y. — A Buffalo man faces multiple charges after police responded to a disturbance call at an apartment complex.
Amherst Police said they received a call around 5:45 p.m. Thursday about a loud party at Block20, an apartment complex off of Sweet Home Road. Officers who arrived at the scene said they witnessed more than 150 people around the pool area, "the majority of which were determined to not be residents of the complex," police said in a statement.
Most people left the scene, but police say 22-year-old Jayquan Montgomery of Buffalo "was observed by officers to be firing projectiles from a firework into the crowd of people."
The charges Montgomery faces include reckless endangerment, unlawful dealing with fireworks, and harassment. He was released with an appearance ticket at Amherst Town Court.
A search of the New York State electric court filing system on Thursday night did not show any future court dates for Montgomery.
