BUFFALO, N.Y. — An engineering student at the University at Buffalo has died after she was rear-ended by a drunk driver in Parma earlier this month.
According to the Monroe County District Attorney, 33-year-old Alexander Hackett is charged with felony vehicular manslaughter related to the death of 18-year-old Maria Eichas.
A GoFundMe has been started to help support her family.
"This case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Raymond Benitez, Chief of the Vehicular Crimes Bureau," the district attorney's office said in a June 7 newsletter.
