HULBERTON, N.Y. — The Orleans County Sheriff's office announced on Tuesday that a body has been recovered from the Erie Canal in Hulberton.
Police say that Robert Bristol, 39, was reported missing at around 5:25 a.m. Tuesday.
After an extensive search using the Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, Drone Unit, and Marine Division along with Deputies on foot, the K-9 unit tracked down his last known location to the bank of the Erie Canal, subsequently finding the body submerged in the water.
Officials tell 2 On Your Side that the body was transported to the Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office and that the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
