NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A bicyclist was hit by a car in Niagara Falls on Friday night, according to Niagara Falls Police.
Around 8:38 p.m. a man was biking south on 22nd Street when he was hit by a vehicle heading east on Willow Avenue, police said.
They added that the car left the scene without stopping, and officers responded to the scene shortly after. The 43-year-old bicyclist was transported to Erie County Medical Center and is in critical but stable condition, officials said.
The police stated that with information from multiple witnesses, they were able to identify the driver as 19-year-old Daniel KT Wijesiriwardena. He has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies.
Wijesiriwardena is being arraigned Sunday in Niagara Falls City Court, according to officials.
The Crash Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate the situation.
