Amherst Police close road in response to health emergency

A spokesperson for Amherst Police told 2 On Your Side that police responded to call for a health emergency and that there is no threat to the public.

AMHERST, N.Y. — The Amherst Police Department urged people to steer clear of the area near Harbridge Manor and Stonham Way on Saturday evening, citing an "an ongoing situation."

Police did not elaborate on the nature of the situation but asked for the public's cooperation while they were on the scene. Police closed a street there for several hours, but it did reopen Saturday night.
