Amherst man arraigned for sexual assault against a child

An Amherst man could face 25 years to life in prison for allegedly sexually abusing a child between 2015 and 2017.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - An Amherst man could face 25 years to life in prison for allegedly sexually abusing a child between 2015 and 2017.

65-year-old, Anthony Mendola, was arraigned Wednesday on one count of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, a Class “A-II” felony, and one count of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child, a Class “B” violent felony.

Mendola, who has been a fugitive from justice since July 2018, was located last night inside a house in the City of Buffalo. He remains held without bail.
